Cadillac & iSimple ISGM73 iPod Interface.

I just had the ISGM73 installed in my 03 Seville we cannot get it to work with the changer controls which it is suppose to do. We installed it through the CD changer harness and the music does play. The 1st problem is that the ipod plays together, at the same time, with my Sirius XM radio and the 2nd issue is that the changer controls don't work. The radio also does not recognize the ipod interface as a source.

After 3 calls to iSimple the best they can do is tell me to install a relay to switch off the Sirius radio when I want to use the ipod. That still won't solve the other issues. We also did try all the different setting on the dip switches. At the moment I am no better off then my using my cassette adapter to play the ipod.

Has anyone else experienced these issues? Does anyone have any clue what my problem may be or what the remedy could possibly be?

car shuts off in few seconds after remote start

Hello I have prestige 1 way remote starter (Model APS622E) installed on my Honda crv 2003 automatic. remote starter was working fine from past 3-4 years but now suddenly its been malfunctioning.
like when I press the start button to start the car, it starts but it turns off after 2-3 seconds and then restarts and shuts off again. I think it does that 3 times and after that it just shuts off and does not restart again until I press the remote starter again.
Locks are working fine with the remote.

I searched and found out that it could be a tach problem so
I checked the tach wire, its connection is fine.
I did the tach learn fallowing the manual.

To learn tach:
1. Turn the ignition key to the On position.
2. Press and release the valet/program push button switch 3 times.
3. Immediately turn the ignition key Off.
4. Press and hold the valet/program push button switch, then start the vehicle using
the key.
5. When the unit senses the tach signal, the parking lights will begin to flash.
6. Wait for at least 5 flashes
7. Release the valet/program switch. The parking lights come on for three seconds
to indicate that the learned tachometer signal is stored and the unit is out of the
tachometer learn mode.
NOTE: If the unit fails to learn tach rate due to an improper tachometer connection or a poor tach source, the parking lights will not flash. To correct this situation, locate and connect the Green/Orange wire (12 pin harness) to the proper tach signal, and then repeat the tach learn routine.

I did all that and successfully received 5 flashes (#6) and 3 second flash (#7). but still remote starter is doing the same thing.

and I also monitored 3 failure attempts after pressing the remote starter. when the car shuts off after first and 2nd attempt, there is 1 parking light flash. but no parking light flash after the 3rd attempt. car just totally shuts off after the 3rd attempt without any dashboard noise or parking light flash.

car still shuts off if i put the key in the ignition and leave it at off position. But if i turn the key to ON position, like at 2nd stop just before starting the car, and press the start button from the remote, the car starts and stays running. So that means bypass problem?

is there anything else I can do?
how can I diagnose whats wrong with the remote system?

Thank you

Jass

Remote start wiring terminology? Avital 4105

It's been a while since I've done one of these and I don't understand what some of the inputs they are looking for.
The car is a 08 Kia Spectra. I do not have ANY problems locating where to wire items just what input they are looking for.

One wire is a "anti grind input" what would this go to?
Another one is a "activation input" also, where does this go?

Thanks.

Release trunk after my car is started remotely

I have an Autostart AS-2481TWS Remote Starter.
After I release the trunk of my 2015 Honda Accord LX, I can use the remote starter to start it remotely.
However, after my 2015 Honda Accord LX is started remotely by remote starter, I cannot use the remote starter to release the trunk right now.
Is it possible to install my remote starter in such a way that after my 2015 Honda Accord LX is started remotely by the remote starter, I can use the remote starter to release the trunk?

'15 RAV4 Compustar Questions

We have a 2015 Toyota RAV4 with push to start and smart keys. We had a compustar Cm7200 module with idatalink al-ca and a 2 way remote.

This is the issues we are having and not sure if this is correct or not.

* start then stop engine with 2-way remote -> 2-Way Remote shows car unlocked even though it is not.
- Smart unlock door handle makes 2-way remote beep/alarm (change status), but does not do this when smart lock door handle locking is used
- No communication between factory system and compustar factory fob does not change status on 2-way remote
- Factory panic does not work on 2-way remote

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

viper 1400xp

I have a 2003 chevy avalanche 1500 that came with a viper 4 button remote starter. right after i bought the truck the starter was acting funny, only working sometimes. Eventually it stopped all together. i decided to try and troubleshoot. There was no valet button and no led light hooked up to it. It never chirped, i took out the wiring and checked voltage to the fuses and to the power feeds. I bought a valet button but it doesnt seem to do anything. One of the 2 big red wires coming out of the satelite box (called constant 12v) shows no voltage and i assumed it would.no functions work on the remote, there are 2 fuses between the brain and the satellite box, when i took the blue one out and went to put it back in the truck started on its own.

Lost, how do i make it chirp so i can see if the valet button working? Any ideas why nothing is working but taking that fuse out and putting it back in made the truck start?

When I try to put it in valet mode to reprogram I don't get headlight flashes only clicking sounds. Anyone knows how I could find the problem for the compustar unit?

anti grind/starter cut relay connection verification

am in the process of installing remote start/alarm aps 787c prestige into a 2005 chrysler town and country and need some connections verified for the anti grind/starter cut relay. howie 11 had a post over a year ago addressing this connection. the following connections were listed:
pin 85 ground when armed from alarm
pin 86 ignition 1 only
pin87a key side of starter
pin 30 starter side of cut wire and starter output from r/s
audiovox also had a post for the caravan/town and country interface with the following connections:
pin85 (-) ign. 3/active output from r/s through a diode
pin86 starter wire from r/s
pin 87a key side of violet/brown
pin 30 bcm side of violet/brown
pin 87 180 ohm resistor to ground
questions i have are as follows: first--pin 86 - one post has "ignition 1 only" and the other post has "starter wire from r/s" im guessing these are the same wire - blue from r/s 6 pin connector (ignition 1 output +} is this connection also connected to whit/pin wire at ignition switch? second -- pin 30 "starter side of cut wire and starter output from r/s" and bcm side of violet/brown" -- does connection also connect the yellow wire from r/s 6 pin connector and does this also connect to yellow starter wire at ignition switch? third -- pin 85 "ground when armed" and "(-) ign. 3/active output r/s -- orange wire form r/s 18 pin connector -- there is also a recommendation to connect the light blue wire from r/s 18 pin connector (ground while running) is this connection necessary or can this be disregarded? last -- pin 87 180 ohm resistor to ground -- is this the correct connection for the 180 ohm resistor? i would appreciate any help or comments. thanks

Viper 5901 w/ smart start

So about a month ago, I started my car with my remote starter, started fine. Went out to the car and pressed the brake pedal, car shut off which is normal. Then wen I went to try and start the car with the push button, it wouldn't start took about 5 tries, it cranked but wouldn't turn over. I blew it off as a fluke.

A few days later I was sitting in my car listening to the radio with the ignition off, all of a sudden everything started to dim and radio shut off. Car wouldn't start without a jump. I checked the battery and it had an apparent leak on top, I took it back and they gave me a replacement and everything was running fine until this morning, I started my car remotely again, went in to start it with the push start and it took about 10 tries, any ideas what it would be? Alternator was replaced last year along with battery and battery again about a month ago. Is there some sort of security feature on the alarm that may be acting up and not letting the car start?!

Crimestopper RS4-G5/EvoAll

Basic question I hope. Looking for an answer as to why when I push the start button on my Crimestopper remote, it pops the trunk before starting the car?
2009 Infiniti G37. Don't know if it's Evo programming or something in the settings of the Crimestopper module.

I have the brown wire of the 12 pin connector on the crimestopper going to the trunk pop wire of the BCM on the car (pin 36).

Any help would be appreciated. :banghead:

Problems with my Bulldog RS82B remote starter

2003 Grand Am 3.4 liter
Hi, I am able to SET my remote starter to tach mode without a problem.
When I try PROGRAMMING TACH LEARN, I get to the part where I am supposed to push and release both buttons at the same time and lights should flash twice.
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

Nothing happens.
So The car will start in Tachless mode but that doesn't work well in Minnesota winters.
Any suggestions?

Viper remote start quit starting

i have a viper remote start and keyless entry that everything except the remote start works:angry: It worked fine up until about a month ago now only the keyless entry works. I am not sure of the model of the viper but it is NOT the 2 way type just has 4 button remote. It is on a 2006 dodge truck with a manual trans. It has always had to be operated valet mode but now when Italy to set it to be ready for remote start it does nothing when I push the start button. The light on the remote flashes but I get nothing from the truck and or the receiver After manually shutting truck off I do hear some clicking from the unit but still no flashes anywhere The hood pin was not hooked up so I dont thinks hat is the issue ( but i have been wrong before!). I have tried both remotes with the same results. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated :banghead::banghead:

Alarm not responding to 2-way viper 488v

I have a new/replacement 844v viper remote. I was successfully able program it to my python alarm. I do not know off hand what the model number is, as it was installed when i first bought the car back in 2007.

when I press the lock/unlock button, the car responds, but the green light on the remote blinks and beeps multiple times as if its not getting response from the alarm itself. Is there possibly an issue with my remote, alarm, or did I maybe missing something while programming it?
